1 have the honour to forward a letter which
i have received from the Attorney-General Sir Henry Berkeley
and in accordance with the request contained in it, I have the
honour to move Your Excellency to appoint him to be one of his
Majesty's Counsel for this Colony.

There is a precedent for this course in the
case of the present Procureur General of Mauritius, who has, i
have been informed, recently been accorded the dignity which Sir
Henry Berkeley seeks.
